• A mission clearly predicated on fighting the climate emergency, which is exemplified in all aspects of how you present yourselves.

• A clear rationale for the size of climate impact of your venture at scale, measured in millions of tonnes of CO2e.

• Evidence that your market will grow exponentially over the next 10-15 years.

• Pitches for pre-seed or seed stage money.

• Some of the knowledge and skills that your team has to build and bring your product or service to market.

• EIS or SEIS eligible. This normally means you are a UK based company but there are exceptions. If you are unsure you can check here.

• A founding team containing the breadth of knowledge and skills needed to bring your venture to market.

• At least two co-founders planning to work full-time.

The 5 minute pitch

Putting together a deck can be a lot of work, but it’s a real process to help you think through all of the different aspects of your business. There’s some great advice from Y Combinator here, and Guy Kawasaki has produced a great template here.
